Kauai Vacation

KAUAI

For the ultimate laid back tropical experience filled with lush rainforests, breathtaking waterfalls, serene beaches, and chilled out drives, a visit to the garden isle is a must. It is also the only Hawaiian island with navigable rivers. It is also the oldest of the Hawaiian islands. Its spectacular natural beauty has made it a choice of shooting for several Hollywood films.

Kauai is a true paradise. If you are staying in Lihu’e, then you are only a stone’s throw from Kalapaki Beach, where you can enjoy some of the best swimming on the island. You can also take the 30 minute drive south to Po’ipu. White sand beaches and golf courses await you there. And if you’re up for a slightly longer drive, then you must make your way to the Waimea Canyon, nicknamed by Mark Twain as “The Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” The experience of witnessing this 3500 foot deep Mother Nature masterpiece can be described only as ‘awe-inspiring.’

Kauai Vacation
If you’re making your way to the North Shore from Lihu’e, then be sure to make pit stops at Wailua Falls and Opaeka’a Falls. To see the Fern Grotto, a 40 foot cave, you will have to embark on a 3 mile journey up the Wailua River. And if you actually get overwhelmed by all the natural beauty, drop-in in Kapa’a town for a plate-lunch and light shopping. Perhaps you fancy a local anklet.
Hanalei town in the North Shore is filled with cozy local shops where the Aloha spirit fills the air. After your visit here, head onwards towards Lumaha’i beach. But don’t forget your snorkel gear if you want to swim with exotic underwater species. For the adventurous traveler, you may want to try the Napali Coast hiking trail. But if you just want to look at this magnificent masterpiece from a distance, then make sure to book a boat or helicopter tour. You will witness over 10 miles of vertical seamounts falling into a necklace of white surf spray.
